West Eastern Divan Orchestra

Founded by conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim and literary theorist and critic Edward Said in 1999. The orchestra features musicians from Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria and fosters a genuine, practical dialogue between Israeli and Arabic musicians. During Micha’s three-year residency 2000-2002, West Eastern Divan Orchestra performed in Chicago, Berlin, Weimar, Seville, Strasbourg, and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, to name a few.
